Performance

In January 2011, Mercer Investment Consulting Inc. (Mercer) acquired Hammond Associates Institutional Fund Consultants, Inc. The Foundation now contracts with Mercer as our investment consultant. Our fees did not increase as a result of this change, and our contacts from Hammond remain on staff and continue to service the Foundation’s funds.

With assets under advisement of more than $1.2 trillion, Mercer is a leading global provider of consulting, outsourcing and investment services. Their services include advice on asset allocation, investment manager selection, performance measurement and implementing socially responsible investment guidelines. The firm has dedicated consulting teams in specific practice areas that understand the unique perspectives of their clients. Mercer consults with nearly 3,000 clients worldwide, including more than 500 in the United States. Mercer’s more than 20,000 employees are based in more than 40 countries. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.

Hammond Associates’ institutional clients have fared well versus the Russell/Mellon Total Fund Universe of Educational and Foundation portfolios with less than $1B in assets. In the last three years the Foundation’s Total Composite Fund (Conservative, Moderate and Aggressive Funds combined) ranks in the top third (31%) through September 30, 2011.
